I want to rearrange things a bit with my Shared Folder/drive letter assignment.

Given we are now tied to drive letters to folders with the removal of DE in WHS 2011, I want to make sure I do not cause a problem with this change.

I currently have
E:\Videos
F:\Music

and I want to change this to
V:\Videos
M:\Music

.... silly/trivial, I know, but it helps me keep track of things in WHS 2011.

I know how to use Disc Mgr to change drive letters, but will this break the linkage of WHS to the shared Folder? How do I safely change drive letters for a shared Folder and not cause issues within WHS. Is there a registry setting that is needed along with the Disc Mgr changes, or do i do this is the Dash Board and WHS is smart enough to update the related links?

Maybe this is 'Disc Mgr", but it has worked fine for me:
On server desktop:Start>AdmTools>DiskManagement, then right click the desired drive and you see the "change drive letter" drop down.
I used this method to get the DVD drive at the end and to sequence the other drives as I wanted. No problems after 2 weeks.
good Luck!

Yes, as stated in my OP, I obviously know how to change the drive letter of a physical HD

get the DVD drive at the end and to sequence...

There are no Shared Folders mapped to the DVD, so this is not related to my situation.

I tested this on a small folder and what I found was when I change the drive letter of a HD with a mapped Share folder on it and then exit Dashboard and restart it, WHS will then reports the Shared folder as missing. Right click the Share and select Re-Assign missing folder (or something similar).... You can then navigate to the new drive letter/folder and WHS will be linked again to the new location. This works for pre-defined Shares, if you have user created Shares, once you change the drive letter, WHS just deletes the Share and it no longer appears in the Dashboard. You must recreate these user created shares.

After some trial and error, I now have...

500GB - E:\ <non Music and Video Shares>
1.5 TB - M:\Music
2.0 TB - V:\Videos
