Hey, WGSers,

I saw this ad on the right bar while browsing the forums, and want to give a huge thumbs up to this remote. I have one, and it is AWESOME!! I have a fairly complex home theater and media room set up. This remote makes it a breeze to use. It's a little hairy to set up but once that is done, it is so simple to use.

The way this remote works is based on the activity you want to engage in. When you pick the remote up, the accelerometer senses that movement and the remote wakes up. From the list of activities on the LCD screen, you tap what it is you want to do. The remote knows what devices and settings are required for that activity, and it sets everything to the proper setting. For example:

I select "Watch Television"

The remote:
- Turns on the projector
- Sets the projector to HDMI input
- Turns on the amp.
- Sets the amp to HDMI output
- Sets the amp to Video 1 input.
- Turns on the AV switch.
- Sets the AV switch to position 1
- Turns on the Cable box

I'm good to go.

I have activities set up for watching DVDs, VHS, listening to CDs, cassette tapes, AM or FM radio, etc. The remote knows how to drive it all.

If anything goes wrong, the remote will ask you questions. "Is the projector on?" "Is the amp on?" "Is the amp input set to Video 1?" It continues this until you say "No" and then it corrects the issue.

Then it also knows which buttons on the remote are tied to which devices. For example, if my activity was "Watch a DVD" it would differentiate between the DVD and the amp when I'm manipulating various buttons. I knows how to behave like a Comcast cable remote while also controlling my volume on the amp or video settings on the projector.

If you need to do some real fine tuning, you can click the "Devices" button and it will present touch screen controls for every function your device has.

This is truly an amazing remote control!

Ah, thanks Dave. I'd not seen that. I have a different remote than the one he reviewed, but am just as enthusiastic about it. I love mine.

I have a couple of 525's in different rooms. The only catch I have found is that you need to use a different email address if you want to program up more than one to register the second device on the Logitech site.

I have the Harmony One myself - it's probably the best piece of tech in the house!
