Hi all
Recently got WHS2011 up and running successfully but I have one strange little issue... The server keeps throwing up a 'critical' alert saying "The router is not configured correctly" - it is a pretty useless message as it gives no hint as to what bit of the configuration isn't correct!
I've tried repair this issue, and ignore and it disappears for either a few minutes or a few hours and then comes back.
AFAIK everything is working correctly - remote access, vpn, streaming, backups etc etc all test ok.
I have the server on a fixed internal IP, with the firewall rules (on my netgear DGN2000 router) to pass inbound traffic to that ip as follows:
HTTPS - TCP: 443
HTTP - TCP: 80
VPN-PPTP - TCP: 1723
RDP - TCP: 4125
Also I have the UPNP thing on (not really sure how that fits in) and the table has the following information:
UDP Int. Port: 51884 Ext. Port: 51884 SERVERIP
TCP Int. Port: 443 Ext. Port: 443 SERVERIP
(there is some other stuff in there but it seems to relate to the IP address my iphone has).
If anyone has any clues on how to help me troubleshoot, resolve or stop these alerts I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi
I'm having the same issue as you. Message keeps popping up every hour or so that the Router is not configured corrrectly, i open the dash board and click repair and the alert disapears for an hour then comes back again. everything appears to work ok even with the alert so not sure what is happening as you say it doesn't tell you whats not configured correctly
I did have to swap my router from a Belkin F5D8236-4 back to the VirginMedia supplied DLink DIR615 to get remote web access and my home server website working. The Belkin always worked when i was running WHS V1, but WHS 2011 just didn't work even if i set the ports up myself.
Am currently waiting for my VirginMedia Super Hub to arrive as the Dlink even though wireless N is pretty crappy. The Super Hub also has a 4 port gigabit hub built in so hopefully can disconnect the netgear 4 port gigabit switch that i'm currently having to use.
By the way managed to get WHS 2011 for £37.95 from CCL computers UK very good deal they aren't sure why Microsoft dropped the price like they did though. They did say that at the previous price it wasn't selling and had very few enquires about it, not many at the new price either apparently.

same issue here.... alert saying "The router is not configured correctly". click repair and the alert disappears for an hour then comes back again.
I am currently on a D-Link DIR-615. Previously I had a Netgear RangeMax, which was taken out by a lightning strike. I don't recall this alert while using the NG router.

Have you anything else on your network that could be changing settings with upnp?

perhaps, I use two WDTVs, two HD Tvios, Two Squeezeboxes and a Slingbox..... not sure if one of these is mucking with the router or not. This is a new WHS alert. Maybe one of these devices received an update that is trying to do UPNP on the router.
on a broader topic... I grow tired of the WHS 2011 alerts. like the one that pops up every time you plug in a new HD (was the same in v1). I'm almost to the point of just ignoring the alerts altogether.

Same problem and very annoyed at the “Router is not configured correctly” alert! Since it is a critical alert, it hides other alerts that I can fix and actually mean something. From what I have researched, I think my problem lies with the fact that my ISP blocks incoming on Port 80 and therefore, when WHS tries to check the router configuration, it gets blocked. Port 443 is not blocked so my server can be accessed, I just can’t handle my server alerting me to something it thinks is wrong when it is not that big of a deal. To get a critical alert and the message in my “Server Settings / Remote Web Access” that my “Router is not working” does not inspire confidence that when I travel, I will have access to my server.
I read in other forums how this problem of Blocked Ports could be solved in WHS v1 but there is enough difference in the two systems that I cannot translate. I know there are a lot of people out there with more experience than me on these two systems that could convert these steps over to WHS 2011 and solve this problem for a lot of people.

I also had this problem even with upnp switched on and also after mapping the ports manually.
Although the error is reported by the server everything is working, so I did cheat a bit. I went in to the dashboard and viewed the alerts for the server. In there you can hide individual alerts, so I just hid the alert about the router and put it down to microsoft bugs.

I get this error, but have a larger problem. Shortly after the error is sent by the server, my router stops working and I must reboot it to continue (otrherwise I Have no web access). As in other cases, all my stuff works: I can log in remotely, etc. I did manully configure my dlink dir-825 as shown in any configuration guide around here, without problems. This is extrmely annoying and I am wondering if anyone knows how to shut of WHS test of the router? Enough already, this is supposed to be a mature product!
