Hi
I have been running WHS 1 for the last few years on a Tranquil BBS (Bare Bone Server) running on an Atom 330 processor with 2GB Ram. I have 4TB of storage and it holds all my photos, videos and music as well as backing up 3 family PCs. It works well and seems to be able to stream 2 movies at the same time reasonably well.
I would like to upgrade to WHS 2011 but I'm not sure the system has sufficient power. I have contacted Tranquil and they will upgrade it to a LeoS4 for about £700 or, the recommended option, a Riley Server and Storage for around £1800. This seems crazy prices for a simple upgrade.
Will this server handle WHS 2011? I guess RAM is probably the issue, not sure how upgradeable it is.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Mark

Thanks. Sounds doable.
I notice from your sign-off you decided to go for a new server for 2011 and semi-retire the old WHS. Any reasoning behind that? I'm anxious because I know how temperamental the Tranquil kit is and I have a lot of family data on the box.
Thanks again

1. Old hardware (life expectancy expired)
2. CPU performance not up to par for my liking or needs
