I set up a back up disc and was backing the shared folders up to another drive but this has developed a fault to the point when I click on the back up in the list called server it just crashes the Consul. how do I remove this from the list on machines??
as this way I might be able to set it back up and all will be OK

IIRC there are a couple of registry entries that control this.
Run regedit on the server and browse down to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\Transport\ and delete the "Server" key. Restart the server and it *should* be gone.
