Hi, I am trying to do a bare metal restore of my Tranquil MMC PC. I have followed the instructions on your WHS 2011 Step-byStep guide but atthe point where I have to enter region and keyboard options (having created my USB key and booted the client from the USB) I then have no control with either mouse or keyboard. They are both USB peripherals and directly connected (ie not using a hub).
Any clues? Do I have to get the mouse and keyboard drivers onto the key?
Apologies if this has been raised before.
Martin

You shouldn't need to provide specific drivers for your mouse or keyboard, though if you have the drivers handy, it couldn't hurt to try them. Do you have PS2 ports that you could use with a different KB/mouse or with an adaptor?

You have posted in a WHS v1 forum, but mention WHS 2011, so not sure if you will get correct audience. For both restore mechanisms, standard HID USB drivers (mouse & keyboard) are natively included. You might need to check the BIOS that USB is enabled and I am not sure if you need to enable legacy support.
If you are working with WHS 2011, let us know and we can move this to the right place.

Hi, I think I have the answer. I have been plugging the mouse and k/bd into the USB 3 ports for which the pre-install environment does not have drivers for. I will let you know...
