Hello again - so, I uninstalled version 1.0 per the instructions on Brent's blog. I then began installing version 1.0.1 per the instructions within the associated pdf file.
I am receiving the following error message - "Service 'TV Manager' (TVManager) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". I also tried rebooting WHS as well.
Any suggestions?

On your WHS, delete C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\TVManager_Service.exe and then uninstall and reinstall v1.0.1.

I'm seeing the same error as stixx upon trying to install.
The event log on the home server has this exception:
Service cannot be started. System.ArgumentException: The directory name D:\shares\Recorded TV is invalid.
at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher..ctor(String path, String filter)
at TV_Manager_Service.EmailWatcher.Start()
at TV_Manager_Service.Service1.OnStart(String[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)
Should the installer have taken care of creating the "Recorded TV" share? Apparently it didn't.
This is a brand new install of TV Manager 1.01. I've never had any of the betas installed.

Manually creating the Recorded TV share allows the install to complete successfully.

The service is supposed to detect the share doesn't exist and create it. Apparently it didn't before the email watcher started.
Same thing for me. Recorded TV has not been created and install failed until I manually create it.
As I said in another post, we should be able to choose from default path or customized path if it aleady exists during installation of the add-in. Then the client should be able to automatically update the path.

I'm sorry. I should have had the share created when the service loads before the EmailWatcher starts. I've fixed it locally. It will be in the next release.
As for what you said, I can't do everything with the installer. Also, I'd have to redo how the client works for it to automatically update the path. I'd rather not have to do that now.

No problem, it was only a suggestion. By the way, if I use TV Manager from internet, I'm able to see all my recorded TV, but can't play them. If I click on a show, it comes back with white screen and at the top, it shows -163. Any clue?
I tried to install the client on my laptop (Windows XP Home) and after installing, I get the error message:

Email watcher
That's a nice feature. I set it up and it works great. But is it possible to have more than one serie? I have a second serie I want to be advise when a new recording is available. In the dropdown list, only one shows up. How can I set up the other one? A new recording of the new serie have already been moved to the server.

Does that recording show up in the web interface? You could add it manually using the registry editor. Navigate to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CompuGeek Software\TV Manager\Settings' on the WHS.
Create a new string value. The name should be something like: Burn Notice_Email Or Eureka_Email. Basically SeriesName_Email. Make sure you grab the series name from the web interface to make sure it is correct. The data for the string value should be the email address of the person to notify. For example: jdoe@example.com

Yes, it shows up in the web interface. Do I have to edit the registry every time I want to be advise by email? Isn't it suppose to be created automatically?
