  1. Drashna! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I know this is an old thread, I'm not even sure if you still frequent this excellent site, but you just stopped me going mad. My Sys drive failed yesterday on my trusty EX470 & I've been trying for HOURS to do a fresh install on a new drive with no joy. Untill I came across this thread that is. I followed your instructions, and BAM! There it is! Wow, what a relief, I can't thank you enough my man. Peace, Respect & all power to you.
  2. Slightly off topic, but as GoDaddy seem to support SOPA, PIPA and every other kind of internet censorship - I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I never realised though Drashna, that the live domains certificates are owned by GoDaddy, I feel a bit miffed now, seeing as I too am using the live domain. Bummer.
  3. Hi Guys! I'm trying to download the zip for system restore but none of the links seem to be working, can anyone provide me with a working link? Thanks in advance, and great work by the way!! Cheers.
  4. Hi there, I'm struggling a bit, I get as far as clicking on the security tab on the ASP.net website admin tool then I get this message: There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store. The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) I don't have the foggyest on how to correct it, can anyone steer me in the right direction? Laymans terms would be great, I'm still trying to learn this website stuff. Thanks.
  5. Wow, this is an old thread. Nobody seems to have done it yet? Right, I've been looking into this this morning as part of the EFF's TOR challenge (which I am a huge fan of) but first I want to make sure all my stuff on the server is secure and encrypted before taking the plunge and installing TOR as a bridge or middle relay. I don't use p2p on the server, I just want to set it up to help the TOR network. When I have decided on the best option to encrypt my Server data I will report back with how I get on, cheers.
  6. Indeed, there's a few users have done it like that with no bother at all. I'm still toying with Immunet though, but if not I'll be using MSE as well I think.
  7. Yeah. Thanks. Well aware of that though. I have actually contacted Immunet asking if there are any plans for WHS/2003 support, as I have heard of people who have installed it no problem - that's why I'm asking. I'd like to hear from them to get their feedback, and if it's good, I don't mind giving it a go at all. So, anyone out there tried it yet? I'd like to hear from you if you have....
  8. Anybody out there tried Immunet AV on their MSS yet? I tried it on my Netbook running XP when it was in beta stage but it was a bit buggy. Now that it's up and running properly I'm thinking of giving it a whirl on the MSS as Avast is just sapping the energy out of my trusty 470 v3 2GB ram, and this product has a VERY low footprint on the system. I know it means no addin and remote install but I just wonder........
  9. I was just looking at their site. Have you got it on yours? I used it when it was a beta on my Netbook & it was a bit buggy. But now I'm thinking of giving it a whirl, Avast is killing my MSS.
  10. Are you replying to me? If so, I'm not asking for an OEM disc(s), I already have them from when I bought the bloody thing - I'm asking for the V3 upgrade disc(s). But thanks for stating the obvious......Please read the posts before replying. FYI.
  11. Good points, but I am an original owner and have had this EX470 from new. I went to work abroad and put all my computers into storage while I was away, and have now returned and am in the process of setting up all my equipment in my new place - figuring I would upgrade everything and start afresh with the new V3 upgrade. I had already upgraded the RAM and the CPU before I mothballed everything so the unit is ripe for the new software......if only I could........you know? Thanks for the CEO link by the way, email is sent - a real beg type one as well. I suppose I just have to wait, but I'm still looking as I don't hold out much hope.
  12. I'm more than willing to buy them off ANYONE, that's the problem - can't find anybody who has them. If any of you guys hear of anything please let me know, I'll be checking the Forums frequently, thanks.
  13. Maybe you can get HP to actually sell me some V3 upgrade discs for my EX470 then? I've tried to no avail. What on earth is the reasoning behind that?
  14. Agreed, it is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! "We have a great software update for you - but we're not gonna give it to you, or sell it to you, so there". How stupid is that? I've scanned all p2p sites - got the same result as you. Even Nice HP man thought it was stupid, that says something. It's no wonder people fileshare, they're forced to cos numbnuts like HP won't sell it to the people they designed it for!! Jeez. Drives me mad. So, anyone out there hear of anything or know of anyone please let me know - cash waiting. Sharing is caring.
  15. Sorry to say you are mistaken sir......
