I have just carried out a restore after replacing two of the original drives in my HP EX475 - one being the system drive. As a result I have had to redo the configuration and reinstall all the add-ins. However after installing the latest version of WHS DM I find that the Console closes a few seconds after opening the DM tab. It happens without getting as far as attempting to do anything. I tried the suggestion in an earlier post of uninstalling and reinstalling after removing the content from the relevant folder on D: and rebooting but to no avail. Any further suggestions.
Regards
Alan

Hi Alan,
Please grab me:
1) any errors in Event Log on the server that happen around the same time as the console crash
2) the latest HomeServerConsole.xxx.log from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\Logs\ on the server
Thanks.

Thanks for prompt reply Sam but I've found the problem. After doing the restore a lot of updates were applied - MS and HP and the system showed WHS Power Pack 2. However it seems thatall was not as it seemed and the update process omitted Power Pack 1. I was suspicious as the facilty to add drives as backups disappeared as did the Home Server from the Computers and Backup tab. I therefore manually installed PP1 and after a reboot the full backup facilties returned and your add-in started working as it did previously. And WHS is supposed to take the worries of safeguarding your precious media away and anybody can use it. I've been in IT for more years than I care to remember and it has given me a good deal of grief!!
