Ok, so yesterday I got bored being snow bound and tried something new. I have a 2003 server running as well as WHS in my house. I have a video that I would like to stream so my grandson can watch it at his house without his mom having to go through webguide to get to it. I created a website on the 03 server using the windows media services manager, and put a link to that website on my home server. Everything looked like it worked fine here but when they try to get to it, it gives a broken link error. I am thinking it is a router port issue, my question is what ports need to be open to stream a .wmv? I opened 554 but is that the only one. The link to the video comes up http://servernane/xxx.wmv and it says this link appears to be broken. Has anyone done this, I also loaded windows media service 9 on my whs and could just do it from the WHS, but will I get the same error? or should I just build a seperate site on the WHS using something like front page and add a link to it on my home page?
