I am having the worst time trying to get remote access working on my WHS (custom build). I am using a Linksys WRT320N with DDWRT firmware. I also had trouble with a very very old Linksys WRT54G using Tomato but I no longer have access to that router.

My WHS has a static IP address of 192.168.1.200
I can successfully access the webpage and log in via the IP address from within the network

I believe I have the correct ports forwarded (80, 443, 4125 and 3389) to *.200
** removed attachment because I had my IP info in it.

I did a port scan and these ports came up up stealthed

I have external access to the router turned off but I also played with around with alternate ports (like 8080) for external router access

Oddly enough, if I forward port 80 to my PC and turn on Apache - I can access it externally.

Any ideas on what the issue might be? It seems to be between my router and my whs somewhere.

Thanks!!

On my own network i don't have the server setup as static. On the router i enabled upnp, i then port forwarded the what ifno cam up in upnp. dd-wrt normaly remmebers the server and the orginal ip it was on even after a few days.

If it not too much to do, then do a 30/30/30 on router, and remove static ip server first.

reconfig network.

Note to yourself :- Next time you take scree shot off router config air brush out wan ip address.

okay, I figured it out!!

First - I had to follow this guide for creating a static route
http://www.dd-wrt.co...php/Static_DHCP

Second - I had to undo something I did when I set up my WHS. When I set up my WHS, I edited the network connections to use a fixed IP. That somehow conflicts with the static route in the walk through above. Undoing it resolved my issue.
