Server Backup

I recently had a hard drive meltdown where I lost one of my two drives in my whs. I was forced to remove that drive and perform a server re-installation.

Now when I connect my external hard drive to make a server backup (from the "computers and backup" tab in the whs console) I am not presented with the option to backup the server.

How do I get this option back? Do I need to have two hard drives installed to have this option?

Thanks in advance

Verify that you are running at least PP1. That's when the feature was added. As for the backup option, it is part of the "add disk" wizard. So just double check when "adding" a disk.

Than you very much.

I had to add the external hard drive again, which I thought would just add it to the storage pool. But it gave me an option to add it as an external backup device.

:)
Yeah, the server backup feature isn't exactly intuitive to use. But glad you found it.
