On I have 2 700 gig drives and 2 1TB drives.

One of the 700TB drives died (not system volume).

Did repair and everything you can think of but she is dead!

I tried to remove it from WHS but it says it can't calculate how much free space i have so it can't remove it. (I have plenty of space to remove it!)

So I turned off the WHS pulled the drive and restarted... Then went into the WHS console and again asked to remove the now unavailable drive.

That didn't work.... It would try but then crashed the console...

I removed the drive formatted it and put it back in the server (as the drive works) it just some how went off.. (I have no plans to keep it in the server long term..)

My issue is that the WHS is still confused thinking that it still has files... For example in my videos directory when i go to play some videos no issues but other are not working because it still thinks they are on the now erased drive!

So I ran check disk on "D".... That I thought would make it smart up and see some files are gone...

That didn't work... So now I am trying to remove the now erased disk....

The bottom line is I don't care about the files that are lost... I just wanted to have the systems remove all the lost files from any shares that didn't have the duplication on that are stored on this drive and then let me continue on!

No important data was lost... I just want to get it to remove the drive and the lost data... what is the simple way to do that... I will then put a new drive in and replace the lost data....

Might want to try a "server reinstallation" - it should rebuild the storage pool with only the data it can find.
However, it may not work if the data disk is missing

Otherwise, you may need to do a manual rebuild
