I built a WHS2011 machine and used a 500GB notebook drive from a laptop that I replaced with a SSD, for the OS drive. I have a 1TB drive for backups, another 1TB drive and a 2TB drive for other data but I don't back all of it up.

I've had it up and running for a few weeks now, and I am now getting a message that my OS drive is failing. This drive is basically brand new and was only in the original laptop for maybe 1 month before I replaced it with a SSD, and then it has sat on a shelf for the past year.

I have backups of the server. I have since moved all the server folders that were on the D drive to one of the other data drives. What do I need to do to restore my backup onto another harddrive?

I have a 640GB WD Black drive that I ran the diagnostic tools on and everything seems to be fine, so I want to use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
