Help! Whs System Drive Died - How Do I Perform Server Reinstallation?
I hope that I have come to the right place to get some help to get me out of a bind.
A couple of days ago I found out that my server was not responding. After power cycling my server I heard the dreaded "death click" coming from the box and it would not boot. As my "luck" goes, it turned out to be the system drive of my server that had failed.
I purchased a replacement drive (1TB WD Caviar Black) and have installed it in the case and started the process of reinstalling the WHS V1 OS, however, when I step through the installation, I do not get an option to perform anything other than a "New Installation". I then get a warning that doing this will result in all hard drives connected to the system being formatted. Obviously this is not what I want to do as I still have all of my data on the storage pool drives, which are all still operational.
Can anyone please explain what I need to do to setup my new system drive and then have it recognize my storage pool disks.
Any help, advice or references will be greatly appreciated.
