I'm not ready to show off the new list of featues for 1.1 just yet (*cough* running as a service *cough*), but I am interested in what you want in the next release.
Show me a list of things you want, need, or would love to see. No promises, of course, but some of the best features of WHS Disk Management have come from community ideas. I want yours!
Let's blue-sky this piece.

What I'd like to have is the ability to embed the Disk Management data into the website... As I don't have remote access to the Console from work.

oh, you know, graph for each disk, the total server storage, total free space, etc. I like to show it off at work, and it's a pain only being able to do it by taking screenshots...
But I'd like to have a lot of the functionality of the console replicated in the website.

The kitchen sink? :P
The only legit thing I can think of is adding the overall size of the backups for the system. Maybe color code that for the bars.

Hmm.. I think it's great as it is! But maybe you could do add file duplication (like the add-in).
Still wondering why we would to have a webinterface for it.. When one of the HD's is on fire, and your away there's nothing you can do about it anyway...

I'd like to see more control over the case "box" in the wireframe. Basically I want to be able to enter two different values for the Y-axis margins above and below my drive bays. More details are in this thread. I don't mind if I have to edit the XML directly. :D

I would like the ability to be able to "ping" (write some temp data) to a HD. This would be there to verify that the location of HD's in the wireframe match the physical location of the HD's in the computer.
In my case, I have an external unit hooked up currently that has 4 identical drives in it. Which is which? I have no idea! Since I do have status lights on each drive, this would a very easy way to verify location.

Not sure if this is a feature request or just an observation. I just created a RAID setup on that external unit I mentioned in my last post. WHSDM reports everything it is supposed to, but....
It does show a drive temp. There are 4 physical drives in the array. WHSDM shows it as one drive, of course. It really should not show a drive temp, perhaps? Which drive is it reporting? It does not truly indicate the full status of the disk array, so it could be a bit misleading?
Anyway, just information for you to mull over. :)

It is misleading, yeah. What's the make/model of the enclosure?

Any possibility of supporting temp/etc for SATA controllers on motherboards based on AMD 740/780G chipset?

And that's why we love you! If we did everything by the book... there would be no book!

I just tried this add-on and it seems to improve disk management in WHS by quite a bit. Below are some of my suggestions. I realize some of them have already been brought up.
1. That it should look for "delay write fail" events in the eventlogs and include that in the drive failure detection.
2. Have a service that does drive failure detection.
3. Include in the service and in the console a file/folder log that keeps logs of what is stored on each volume so in the event of failure you know what you've lost or need to recover.
4. In the event of a possible drive failure automate removal of the drive from whs pool to prevent data loss.
5. Write a small amount of temp data to map out drives in the wireframe setup.
My biggest issue is I lost a 750GB drive with videos spread across it. How do I know what I lost on this drive?
Thanks for the great plugin!
