I posted this in the wrong forum earlier, but here is my question.

Wondering if anyone has been able to successfully get Joomla/Mambo and or Gallery 2 to work on HP MediaSmart Home Server? Having a lot of problems getting open source software to work correctly.

I would post what I have done, but that wouldn't be wise. I have to start all over again and try to get this to work. Subsequently, if anyone has done this or thinking about it-can you provide a detail tutorial on how you might think this will work?

Make sure you got PHP and MySQL working first. follow the wiki, after that make a test page with this content:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

name it index.php and make sure you got index.php in the default content page list. After that Joomla and such packages should be a snap.

I'f you can't get it to work I'll make a tutorial sokmewhere this week and post it on the Wiki. but if you chekced if php works then everything else should be very easy to do by your own.

* Updated the Wiki with the phpinfo() test page.

I have gotten Gallery2 & Joomla to work from my custom build WHS. I don't see any reason that you couldn't get it to run off your HP WHS. Like Gamer said, you need to follow the wiki for installing PHP & MySQL. Then use the wiki for installing PHPBB3 for a template to install Gallery & Joomla.

I've installed Joomla and Gallery2 and Gallery3 on my WHS with no problems under both IIS6 and Apache. As mentioned above get your PHP and MySQL working first and you shouldn't have any problems.

Gallery2 can require a little more work if you want to install all of the extra image processing libraries, if you just want to use GD then that is part of PHP and works well.
Installed: Apache 2.2.11 port 80, PHP 5.2.8, hmailserver, roundcube, squidnt, mysql.

huh, that looks like the php_mysql.dll or php_mysqli.dll isn't being loaded as an extension for php. Double check your php.ini to make sure it is. And make sure the mySQL service is running.

Yea, I checked the php.ini file and I have those .dll files uncommented and check to see if the service was running. Everything checks out. I copy the .dll file and when I went to system32 and remembered that I just can't drop the file in... Subsequently, I am a little stuck. What information do you need or suggest I do at this point?

Double and triple checked everything and site you suggested. A few corrections in the php.ini file, but still getting same error. Havent' posted issue anywhere else.
